Problem issues opening TIF files/images... there seems to be a plugin issues with Quicktime which takes over as the default media program to open such files.

Coppermine Photo Gallery (CPG) Supported Files (...And Unsupported Files)
Some Coppermine file support details on the outputs of a training conducted for a work project dealing with Coppermine version 1.4.14:
Supported File Types:
Supported File Types:
- Image files: basically all major and widely-used image files like jpg, gif, tiff, pdf, png, psd, etc.
- Video files: (copy default allowed items) again, like the aforementioned, mpeg, mpg, avi, etc… with a few drawbacks on some unsupported files on listed
- Audio files: (copy default allowed items) basically all major file types supported like mp3, mp4.
- AIF
- DAT
- FLV (flash files)
- SWF (shockwave files)
- EXE (executable and program files)
- RAR (rar compressed files; while uploading in Coppermine admin interface seemed to work, files uploaded seem to be corrupted for unknown reasons, winzipped files work though)
- Convert files if possible to .zip compression (zip uploads allowed and tested)
- Batchadd files that fail in Coppermine’s file upload web interface and try providing the links for downloads in the URI / URL uploads
- Check version of Coppermine (this may solve issues by installing patches or current version) by running www.sitename/versioncheck.php
- Above may be soon be supported or running smoothly in future cpg versions
Coppermine (CPG) on Digital Media and Assets Management
The past week our unit conducted a Users and Administrators’ Training on Digital Media and Assets Management (DMAM) for our Agency’s Health Promotion and Health Media Relations archive projects. The health promotion office needed a gallery that will enable them to archive the agency’s media and digitized files (i.e. printed promotional materials such as tarpaulins, streamers and banners, posters, brochures, charts, flyers, pamphlets, promotional manuals, etc; Audio files in the form of radio ads and similar audio clips; Videos such as short promotional film productions and tv ads, etc; and even Interactive materials like CDs, DVDs, exe files, and other optical promotional materials).
A media gallery seemed to be the best choice instead of a typical website that uses lists and links for downloads, since the former will provide a cool presentation of the media files in gallery presentation mode. What else to use but Coppermine Photo Gallery (which by the way is presently more than a photo gallery, but a gallery for other multimedia files like audio and video files) which by experience proved to be the best choice (personal disclaimer here on my judgment :D) Of course, I also did Menalto Gallery, Gallery2, Zoom and Expose on some projects as added modules, components and extensions to sites driven by Joomla and Drupal. However, Coppermine seemed to be the most user-friendly while providing a range of useful features. We installed Coppermine version 1.4.14, stable version two months ago, presently at 1.4.18.
The ff. provides useful links to Coppermine downloads, themes, and other resources:
To download the latest Coppermine installer and releases:
To search for other Coppermine projects, development releases and repository files:
To download Coppermine themes (these listed provide the widest collection and easily downloadable Coppermine themes without having to validate registration emails, personal experience speaks):

Official Photo Gallery of the Department of Health, Republic of the Philippines
I had the privlege to install and run the Official Photo Gallery of Department of Health of the Philippines, being part of my official duties and tasks in the Agency. The DOH is the country's national health agency, while the gallery contains official photographs the Agency's Secretary of Health (DOH's chief official, i.e. Minister of Health) and its Office portraying the constant activities undertaken therein.
I previously, commonly create my gallery with Adobe Photoshop animation tools (the create web gallery) until Coppermine came along.
Other media gallery tested were: Menalto's Gallery, Gallery2, Expose, and Joomla's Zoom...

Forgot your password in Coppermine, Joomla, Drupal, or any other php run cms with mysql database (with management in phpmyadmin)?
Forgot your password in Joomla, Drupal, or any other php run cms with mysql database (with management in phpmyadmin)?
In the event you forget your administrator password or passwords in in Joomla, Drupal, mediawiki, coppermine, etc. (or any opensource php-driven cms with mysql database manageable in phpmyadmin for that matter), a workaround is fortunately available. For newbies, forgetting one's administrator user account's password the only solution will have to be re-installing the entire cms from scratch thus re-creating an administrator account in the process. A solution is as follows:
- Go to site/phpmyadmin (login, of course assuming you have the necessary rights to the database/s)
- Browse for the database, then the table (in the case of Joomla, Drupal, etc. this is commoonly the table 'users') intended to be edited
- click edit user, then under the 'Function' column (dropdown list) choose MD5, edit the 'Value' or your password (you will initially see the encrypted version of your original password), then type in the desired, new password of your choice
- Lastly, don't ever forget your password again, silly! :D
Thanks to pete avila and michael perido for the tip! cool guys from the pacific rim :p...
